STATEMENT OF FAITH OF THE CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY OF SYDNEY

WHO WE ARE …

“… constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and the steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father” (1 Thess. 1:3)

我们是谁？

帖前 1:3 节：“在神我们的父面前，不住的记念你们因信心所作的工夫，因爱心所受的劳苦，因盼望我们主耶稣基督所存的忍耐。”

OUR FAITH …

We believe that “All Scripture is inspired by God ” (2 Timothy 3:16), which we understand to be the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments; that it is inerrant in the original writing, and therefore the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe that there is “one God, from whom are all things” (1 Corinthians 8:6), who reveals himself in three persons of one substance of eternal being: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Romans 1:20;Deuteronomy 6:4; Luke 3:21,22; John10:30; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6

We believe that there is “one Lord, Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 8:6), the Second Person of the Triune God-head, the Word of the Father who became flesh by taking man’s nature in the womb of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit and thus uniting in one person very God and very man, the God-man. John 1:1-14;Matthew 1:20-23;John 4:9;Philippians 2:5-8;1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrew 1:1-3

We believe that there is “one Spirit” (Ephesians 4:4), the eternal Spirit of God, the Third Person of the Triune God-head ( John 16:7;Acts 5:3-4), the infallible interpreter of the infallible Word (John 16:13), the one who indwells every believer and is ever to testify of Christ. His present ministry is convincing the world of sin, regenerating those who repent and believe, sanctifying believers through His indwelling and baptizing them into one Body of Christ. John 15:26;John 16:7-5;Acts1:8;Romans 8:26-27;1Corinthians 3:16;Romans 8:9; 2 Corinthians3:18;Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:13.

We believe in the full salvation that God has provided for the fallen and corrupt mankind (Roman 3:23,5:12;Psalm 51:5). This was accomplished through the work of the redemption of our Lord Jesus Christ who died for us on the Cross and truly arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven and there sits until He shall return personally in power and glory at the end of this age. Matthew 20:28;John 10:17-18;Galatians 2:20;1Peter 2:24;Acts 2:22-32; Philippians 2:5-11;Hebrew 4:14-16,7:25;1 John 2:1;John14:3;Philipians 3:20-21;1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

We believe in salvation by grace through faith; and that we are never accounted righteous before God through our works or merit, but that we are justified only by personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28, 4:3, 4:23-25.

我们的信心

我们相信“圣经都是神所默示的”（提后 ３:16），我们认为66卷旧、新约圣经的原始手稿是无误的，所以在所有关乎信心和操练都具备最高权威。

我们相信“我们只有一位神，万物都本於祂。”（林前 8:6）

祂彰显自己为永恒的三而一的神:即父，子和圣灵。 (罗 1:20； 申 6:4； 路 3:21-22； 约 10:30； 太 28:19； 林前 8:6）

我们相信“並有一位主，就是主耶稣基督”（林前 8:6）
三而一的神的第二位，就是神的道，道成了肉身; 由童贞女马利亚经圣灵受孕所生，成为人的样式，联合神性与人性於一体，是真神, 又是完全的人。（约 1:1-14； 太 1:20-23； 约 4:9； 腓 2:5-8； 提前 3:16； 来1:1-3)

我们相信“圣灵只有一个”（弗 4:4)
神永远的灵是三而一的神的第三位(约 16:7； 徒 5:3-4)，圣灵信实地解释一切真理（约 16:13），圣灵住於每一位信徒心里，並且永远为基督作见证，祂现在的职务是使世人知罪，使那些悔改相信的人得重生，由于圣灵的内住使信徒成圣，並受浸归入基督的身体。（约 15:26； 约 16:7-8； 徒 1:8； 罗 8:26-27； 林前 3:16； 罗 8:9； 林后 3:18； 加 5:22-23； 林前 12:13）

我们相信神给堕落腐败的人类预备了完全的救恩（罗 3:23，5:12； 诗 51:5）
是通过主耶稣基督所完成的救赎工作。祂为我们死在十字架上，从死里真正活过来並升天坐在父神右边，直至世代末了，祂将带着力量和荣耀亲自回来。（太 20:28； 约 10:17-18； 加 2:20； 彼前 2:24； 徒2:22-32； 腓 2:5-11； 来 4:14-16； 7:25； 约一 2:1； 约 14:3； 腓 3:20-21； 帖前 4:16-17）

我们相信神慈爱的救恩是通过信而得着的。
我们永远不能靠自己的行为或功德在神的面前被算为义，因为不是通过我们的工作应得的，只有通过个人对主耶稣的信心，我们才得以被称为义。 （弗 2:8-9； 罗 3:28, 4:3, 4:23-25）

OUR HOPE ….

Our hope is “to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thessalonians 1:10). We believe in the imminent, personal, premillennial second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:1-4; Matthew 24:29-44), and therefore we love and wait for His appearing (2 Timothy 4:8).

Our hope is to wait “eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.” (Romans 8:23).

“Christ in You, the hope of Glory.” (Colossians 1:27)

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8:29)

“We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him.” (1 John 3:2)

我们的盼望

我们的盼望是“等候祂儿子从天降临，就是祂从死里复活的那位救我们脱离将来忿怒的耶稣。” (帖前 1:10) 我们相信主耶稣基督快要亲身在千禧年前第二次降临。（帖前 4:15-17； 提多 2:13； 彼后 3：1-4； 太 24:29-44） 因此我们爱慕与等待祂的显现。（提后 4:8）

我们的盼望是“等候得着儿子的名分、乃是我们的身体得赎.”（罗 8:23）。
“就是基督在你们心里成了有荣耀的盼望。”（西 1:27)
“因为祂预先所知道的人，就预先定下效法祂儿子的模样。”（罗 8:29)
“我们知道主若显现，我们必要像祂。”（约一 3:2）

OUR LOVE ….

Our love towards the Lord our God: “Though you have not seen Him (Jesus Christ), you love Him.” (1 Peter 1:8).

Our love towards our neighbors: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19).

Our love toward our brethren: “The one who loves God should love his brother also.” (1 John 4:21). “Let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.” (1 John 3:18).

我们的爱心

我们的爱心是向着主我们的神：“你们虽然没有见过祂（耶稣基督）却是爱祂。”（彼前 1:8）

我们的爱心是向着我们的邻居：“所以你们要去使万民作我的门徒，奉父，子，圣灵的名给他们施洗。”(太 28:19)

我们的爱心是向着我们的弟兄：“爱神的，也当爱弟兄。”（约一 4:21）“我们相爱，不要只在言语和舌头上，总要在行为和诚实上。”（约一 3:18）
